Why our coats come from partner workshops in China, and what that does to the price
We get asked where our clothes are made, and we would rather answer it here than hide it in a policy page. Every piece we sell is made by partner workshops in China and shipped to you directly from their warehouse. Here is what that means in practice.
What we do in Manchester
We choose the pieces. We order samples, try them on, measure them and decide what stays. We write the size guides from the garments on our table, photograph the pieces, answer every email and handle every return. What we do not do is own a factory or hold a warehouse full of stock.
What the workshops do
They make the garments and pack each order when it comes in. Because nothing sits in a UK warehouse first, delivery takes 6 to 10 working days: 1 to 2 working days to process the order and 5 to 8 for the parcel to reach you, tracked all the way, with import duties paid by us so there is nothing to pay at the door.
What it does to the price
There is no wholesaler, no distributor and no shop rent between the workshop and your door. That is the whole reason a lined coat can cost what it costs here. We are not going to pretend it was two hundred pounds last week; our regular prices are the regular prices.
What we ask in return
Patience for a slightly longer delivery than a next-day retailer, and an email before you send anything back so we can sort the fastest option. In exchange you get 30 days to decide, a free size switch and two people who will answer you by name.
